Steam Chest Replacement
Rotary steam tube dryers built up to and including the 1970's were likely fitted with a cast iron or cast steel steam chest. These items are not repairable under current ASME regulations due to the risks of welding ductile and malleable iron. These steam chests, while possibly remaining operational into the 21 st century, represent a safety hazard.
We at industrial Kiln & Dryer have a standard retrofit design that makes use of a fabricated steam chest that can be dropped in place of the original cast unit. We are able to provide this unit in alloy steel or in various grades of stainless steel depending on the application.
