Girth Gear Change-Out or Reversal

Replacement of a circumferential girth gear is a procedure that is difficult to accomplish properly. A girth gear is a very heavy component that is cumbersome to unload and move around without experience. This is best done in a factory set up to handle such replacement. Reversal of a girth gear to even out wear patterns is no different.

Your dryer can be removed from its trunnions under the supervision of IK & D personnel and transported to our Louisville shop. There it will undergo gear change-out or reversal under controlled conditions. It will then be tested for proper function and alignment and shipped back to your plant. Any other needed repairs can also be diagnosed while your dryer is having its gears serviced.
